Bill Collins is Senior Academic at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University and is a coordinating professor and instructor at the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School. Bill also teaches in-company management development programmes and classes in Human Resources and Organizational Behaviour. While his academic work experience includes teaching students in Japan, and United Arab Emirates, the majority of his teaching has been in the United States and Europe including the Netherlands, Spain, Germany, Belgium, Poland, and Croatia.

Bill has worked with organizations such as AstraZeneca, Aon, Bloomberg, BRE Bank, Corus, Deutsche Telekom, Henry Schein, IBS Moscow, ING, Pliva, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Shell and Wolters Kluwer. He has experience in industries such as pharmaceuticals and distribution of medical supplies, manufacturing, ICT, educational, logistic and business services.

Before moving to the Netherlands, Bill lived in Spain and taught executives at Instituto de Empresa in Madrid, where he was also the Director of the Human Resource Center, a not-for-profit project which was co-sponsored by Instituto de Empresa, Airtel and IBM. Previously, Bill was a Human Resource consultant at Towers Perrin (now Towers Watson), one of the world’s largest global management consulting firms, in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

Bill received his Ph.D. and Master’s degrees in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. He did his undergraduate work at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, USA. Bill has published articles in journals such as International Journal of Human Resource Management, Journal of Organizational Behavior and Journal of Applied Psychology. Bill’s research interests include investigating the impact of organizational differentiation and leadership on employee commitment, engagement and performance.
