Stephan Schubert is a senior member of faculty at Ashridge Executive Education in the UK, where he intervenes on a range of open and customized leadership development programmes. He also teaches on the EMBA programme of DTU’s Executive School of Business in Copenhagen and at the Dubai campus of Hult International Business School. For several years in the past he was Director of one of Ashridge’s Executive MBA programmes.
Beyond his Ashridge role, Stephan is also one of INSEAD’s leading faculty for customised executive development programmes in the Middle East. He has extensive experience of the region, where he has lived for three years and to which he frequently returns. Among his past and current clients are UAE Prime Minister’s Office, Dubai Government, Emirates Nuclear Energy, SEHA, Etisalat, Du, CCC Consolidated Contractors, Kuwait Petroleum Co., AlAwwal Bank (KSA), MiSK Foundation (KSA), and Ma’aden (KSA). Outside his INSEAD role, Stephan has also worked with Adgas, Mobily, Sadara, Vodafone Egypt, GfK Dubai, and, over many years, with ADCO.
Overall, he has more than 15 years of experience as facilitator and consultant in the areas of leadership, organisational behaviour, strategy, and change. He has worked in over 30 countries with particular focus on the Middle East and China. Global clients include McKinsey, Erste Bank Group, Air China, China Post, Sinopec, Lufthansa, Philips, Deutsche Bank, Continental, CBRE, Munich Re, M&G Investments.
As a consultant, Stephan has been advising the board of Swedish engineering and infrastructure consulting company SWECO on corporate portfolio development. He has also advised the board of Royal Moroccan Airlines on the implementation of a low-cost business model, and has been a frequent guest speaker at the airline’s leadership conferences.
A native of Germany, Stephan lives in London and holds British and French citizenship. He obtained a Doctorate in Economics from Paris University, as well as a Masters degree from ESSEC, Paris, and a Certificate in Executive Education practice from Manchester Business School. He is certified to administer and debrief a range of psychometric tools, including Hogan (HPI, HDS and MVPI), Firo B and SDI.
